Peace in the Storm

Poder Latino News /

Violence is a reality that envelops our society and it seems that the efforts of institutions and individuals in promoting a culture of peace are not sufficient to achieve the necessary harmony between human beings. Outbreaks of violence in recent times, inside and outside the United States, poses in some way, a regression of the human race to the origins of the caverns, where the struggle for survival allowed that the force is always imposed on the reason, because there were no moral standards and behavior that will indicate the respect for life or individuality of others. For many believers of different religions, this is a consequence of the imbalance created by human sin, which constantly drag humanity out of Paradise promised on Scripture.

Today, we have advanced in technology, we have doctorates and degrees in various branches of knowledge, but we don't have grown internally in the cultivation of human relationships with people from other cultures and different ideologies that could enrich our lives, while they we help us out of the sectarian and sometimes reductionist views we have of those who are not like us.

Says an adage that violence begets violence. We can not think that peace is achieved through struggle and confrontation of forces. Precisely the jail concept is translated as violence that society does to the people violent. And the result is always the same, more violence.

Our speech sometimes is not applicable to our social interactions   and this causes us to live in a continuing ambivalence, regardless of public leadership that we have in our communities. The challenge is to be a sign of hope amidst so much violent.
