Poder Latino News- Immigration is a phenomenon that is growing daily worldwide.
Most countries in the hemisphere have people of different ethnicities living in
their territories, legally or illegally. The main reason for the migration is
the economic factor. No one wants to leave their country to go and live in
another country, often without knowing the language, leaving his/her family
behind, no money and no hope of getting a good job in an unknown/strange land. In
many cases these issues are handled inhumanely and only showing the
implications of a legal nature involving illegal immigration. Because of this,
the human rights of these people are unjustly violated. We are aware that in
this country, the immigration issue has many sides and a comprehensive immigration
reform, while necessary for millions of people; it’s far away to fix the issue.
In the case of immigration in Hazleton ,
we know that the cultural encounter of immigrants and natives has been walking
slowly. Many natives of this city are still reluctant and do not totally accept
that the reality has changed and not necessarily in a negative way, it has changed
in every way. This new reality requires a change of mentality, which does not
necessarily imply an assimilation of the cultural elements of a foreign culture
to the host culture, but involves openness to the components arising from the
meeting. It is a new culture that premiered in Hazleton ,
as a result of this cultural encounter that demands a degree of tolerance for
diversity.
The shortest way is the way to meet people who live around
us. Confrontations and measurements of forces create an atmosphere of
negativity that results in violence.
We must accept that we are different and that we all have
rights to organize the community without discrimination and without abuse. It's
